"The Rheingau wine market is celebrating its 40th birthday this year. For four decades, the winegrowers of the Rheingau have brought their best wines to the Main metropolis. The Rheingau is one of the most important wine-growing regions in Germany. The wine region is characterized by a very special interplay of cultural and natural landscape and we are also officially included, "said Frankfurt Mayor Peter Feldmann. "With the Lohrberg we have the easternmost tip of the Rheingau on Frankfurt city area. The local vineyard is managed by the winery of the city of Frankfurt am Main and produces fine wines year after year. "Feldmann continues.
At this year's Rheingau wine market on the Freßgass, the winemakers will be presenting their current 2017 vintage to the visitors. With great manual work and diligence, the winemakers succeeded in producing high-quality wines. This is how the 2017 vintage characterizes aromatic wines with a harmonious fruit acidity and good structure that are rather light, fruity and finesse-rich.
"The Rheingau winegrowers are always pleased that they are warmly welcomed in the Frankfurt metropolis. It is a unique opportunity for all to present the elegance of the Rheingau wines and in particular of the current vintage at the wine market to the visitors, "said Peter Seyffardt, President of the Rheingauer Weinbauverbandes.
The wine festival will be opened on 29th August at 6 pm by Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann, Peter Seyffardt and the Rheingau Wine Majesties. "We are always looking forward to the wine festival in Frankfurt. The Freßgass with their beautiful ambience in the city offer a special flair, "said the Rheingau wine princess Alexandra Unger. "The wine market is a great opportunity for the people of Frankfurt, but also for the numerous guests of the city to get to know the excellent Rheingau and Frankfurt wines and sect", said the Frankfurt wine queen Marilen Maul.
"The Rheingauer wine market has a fixed place in the calendar of events of Frankfurt and is one of the traditional festivals of the city and is extremely popular with locals and tourists," says Thomas Feda, CEO of Tourismus + Congress GmbH, which organizes the festival. "Two years ago, we found our current wine queen, whose term ends at the end of the year. We are happy to receive applications for this great position, "continued Feda.
The offer of the winegrowers is supplemented by culinary delicacies, in particular by the direct gastronomic Sausages.
