For three days, 23 museums and 16 stages on both banks of the Main present an extraordinary and challenging program. The Museumsuferfest has established itself as one of the largest cultural events in Europe and has developed an appeal far beyond Frankfurt. At a press conference, the participating museums, projects and stage producers presented their programs in detail.
"The participating museums give unique insights into their homes and gardens during the Museumsuferfest. An impressive number of guided tours are available: for beginners, for professionals, for families and of course especially for children. Visitors are presented with the exhibits from new perspectives and in new contexts. It is also worth the way to a permanent exhibition or to a house that you supposedly already know. Embark on a journey of discovery through our great and renowned museums with curators and art educators. Use the opportunity to visit a house with the Museumsuferfest-Button, which at first glance does not suit your interests and let us surprise you. "Feldmann continues.
Also impressive is the stage program with concerts of all genres and the concert series Klang im Kloster and organ and choral parts.
At Kunsthiese am Sachsenhäuser Ufer, sculptures, paintings and installations are shown in the open air. On the international artist market high-quality, exclusively handmade, objects can be acquired. Along the shore, culinary specialties from all over the world are offered and invite you to try new things. Not the shore but the river itself becomes the highlight of the Dragon Boat Rides, the second oldest competitions of its kind in Germany. "With its very special atmosphere, the festival offers a summer event for all generations and target groups, and convinces those who are interested in culture as well as the music lover and the gourmet," summed up Thomas Feda, Managing Director of the organizing Tourismus + Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main.
The traditional end of the festival is the spectacular music fireworks on Sunday evening, which will take place again at 10 pm this year.
